In this Q&A, I’m asked whether or not there is a monopoly on electric vehicle batteries or their components. The answer is that, no, there is not a monopoly. There are, however, some supply bottlenecks that are slowly sorting themselves out, including the fact that most of the world’s lithium is currently under the control of China. But that’s changing. Quickly.
