This is a quick review of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz G Class, aka the G-Wagen. The G comes in both gasoline (G550, AMG 53) and fully electric (G580) models. I drove both the G550 and the G580 for a week each. Here’s what I think of this nostalgia-driven ride.

The eSprinter is Mercedes’ big, electric van. It’s the EV version of the well-received Sprinter gasoline/diesel van. I really like the eSprinter and can see the market it’s aimed towards. I think it hits that market really well. There’s definitely a use case for this one.
