2026 Toyota Grand Highlander FAQ Sheet

The Grand Highlander is Toyota’s largest family SUV that isn’t built on a truck-based platform. The Grand Highlander expands the standard Highlander’s size and adds premium features. Here are the most-often asked questions for this utility:

  • How many people can it seat? It fits up to eight passengers with a second-row bench, or seven with optional second-row captain’s chairs.
  • Is the third row adult-friendly? Yes, it features 33.5 inches of legroom, making it genuinely usable for adults on normal drives.
  • How much cargo room is available? There is 20.6 cubic feet behind the third row, expanding to a maximum of 97.5 cubic feet with all rear seats folded flat. That’s about 12 full, reusable grocery bags behind the third row.
  • What are the powertrain choices? Buyers choose between a 2.4L turbo gas engine, a 2.5L fuel-efficient hybrid, or the performance-focused 362-hp Hybrid MAX. I would recommend the 2.5L hybrid for most people’s real-world needs.
  • How much can it tow? It can pull up to 5,000 lbs when properly equipped, no matter the powertrain chosen. That’s roughly enough for a fishing boat and trailer, teardrop-style RV, or jet skis/snowmobiles and trailer.
  • Is all-wheel drive standard or optional? AWD is available across all three powertrain configurations, but is not standard on all trim levels.
  • What safety features come standard? Every model includes Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 alongside blind-spot monitoring. That includes forward collision mitigation/braking and front and rear parking sensors.
  • What infotainment system is used? A 12.3-inch multimedia touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto anchors the dash with Toyota’s latest user interface.
