2026 Toyota Corolla Cross FAQ Sheet

The Corrolla Cross is Toyota’s crossover-ized Corolla, designed as a wagon-style vehicle. Here are the most frequently asked questions about it:

  • What are the updates for 2026? The 2026 model received a mid-cycle refresh. This brings a restyled front fascia, a redesigned center console (with bigger screens), and updated trim-specific grilles (gasoline models get a rugged look; hybrid models get color-matched designs).
  • Is the gasoline or hybrid model better? Both are powered by a 4-cylinder engine. In the gasoline model, it outputs 169 horsepower. The hybrid powertrain pushes out 196 horsepower.  The hybrid is definitely the superior choice due to its better acceleration, better-tuned suspension, and higher fuel economy.
  • Which is better, the Corolla Cross or RAV4? The Corolla Cross is cheaper and smaller than the RAV4. This is a major point of consideration for families. Unless you’re looking at an upper-trim Corolla Cross, the price alone will be a big draw. Upper level Corolla Cross models are similar in price and outfit to the mid-tier RAV4 and going to the larger vehicle may be a better option.
  • Which trim level should I choose? The sweet spot is in the LE or XLE trims for the best blend of price and features, such as automatic climate control and heated front seats. Going above those trims begins to make the RAV4 look like a better option.
