The Lexus NX is a compact crossover aimed towards buyers looking for an entry into the luxury market without the size and price premiums associated. Here are the most-asked questions about the NX:
- Do I get the gas or hybrid model? People often ask how the gas-powered NX 350 (2.4L turbo) compares to the NX 350h hybrid in terms of acceleration and smoothness. As with most Toyota/Lexus vehicles, the hybrid is the better option in almost every way.
- Is the F-SPORT version actually sporty? Although this trim adds some sport features and seating/interior elements, it remains more focused on ride comfort than aggressive sportiness. This is generally true of all Lexus models in this trim.
- Is the interior up to par with more expensive Lexus models? The new 14-inch Lexus Interface screen is easy to use, but integrates most of the climate controls. The interior space itself is very Lexus with an ensconced, cozy feel for the driver and a pretty good-sized back seat considering the NX’s size. Road and wind noise are low for the segment, but not quite as quiet as what’s found in more expensive Lexus models.
- Is there a spare tire? There is not. The 12-volt battery is housed in the rear cargo area and Lexus relies on run-flat tires instead of a spare.
- What is with those weird pus-button door handles? A common question pertains to the electronic push-button interior door handles. They are confusing at first, but it doesn’t take long to get used to just pushing the button and the door as a whole all at once. Physical levers for emergency exit are located down in the storage pocket on the doors.
