2026 Chevrolet Trax FAQ Sheet

The little Trax is Chevrolet’s most popular small vehicle. It’s a compact SUV-style offering that appeals to those on a budget who don’t want to go cheap.

  • Does the 2026 Trax have AWD? No. All trims (including the ACTIV) are strictly front-wheel drive (FWD).
  • What engine does it use? It features a 1.2L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine that outputs 137 horsepower. It is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission rather than a CVT.
  • What is the cargo capacity? The Trax boasts 25.6 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats, expanding to 54.1 cubic feet with the rear seats folded flat. Most people will find this more than adequate most of the time.
  • How big are the screens? The base LS and 1RS trims come with an 8-inch center screen, while LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims get a larger 11-inch HD screen. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard across all trims.
  • What is the difference between ACTIV and 2RS? The ACTIV offers an outdoor-inspired, rugged design with unique badging and 18-inch wheels. The 2RS trim has a more aggressive, race-inspired design featuring a flat-bottom steering wheel and bold black and red accents.
  • What kind of fuel economy does the Trax get? Most drivers can expect to be in the area of 30 MPG most of the time as an average.
