The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is a once-in-a-lifetime car. It’s a beautiful drive that offers everything the sports car owner could ever want: style, sophistication, power, handling, and it’s instantly recognizable to everyone looking on.
How powerful is it? I decided to try that. Since my test model was equipped with a Performance Data Recorder, which records video looking forward out of the windshield and overlays that with selected instrument data and performance figures as well as audio from the Bluetooth inputs in the cabin, this was easy to do.
Using a quarter-mile on-ramp with little obstruction, a nice gentle curve in the second third, and a clear freeway afterward (safety spotting, always a good idea), I went to work. I recorded several sessions, but had more than a few hiccups with false starts, traffic issues, and accidentally pressing the brake to slow down before reaching the 1/4 mile mark. I finally hit it right and here’s the result:
