It is not unusual for a vehicle to experience problems after a repair has been made. Sometimes, it is because the repair did not address the real issue, but only a symptom. Other times it is because the mechanic did not do his or her job right or missed a procedure during repairs. In either case, a reputable shop should be more than happy to review the vehicle to make sure they are not at fault and should not complain when you ask to take the vehicle to another shop for a second opinion.
