In this special edition of the Driving in Wyoming Podcast, we give you a quick video tour, via a photo gallery, of the 2014 Father’s Day Classic in Gering, Nebraska. This is the region’s largest classic car show and it always has a great turnout. This year, more than 300 entrants were there, including antiques, classics, modified classics, collectibles and more. With the exception of the final set of photos of this year’s showpiece truck-trailer-race car combination, our photos here are in chronological order for those which caught our eye.
Most of the time when I attend these shows, I might look at some of the street rods and customs, but I usually skim them in favor of the originals, restorations, and as-intended vehicles, which I generally have more interest in. A street rod is cool and I don’t mind them, assuming the owner salvaged an otherwise destined-for-the-wrecker heap to do it, but I prefer cars and trucks that are shown as they were when they first appeared on dealer lots back in the day. That’s just my preference, everyone has theirs, of course.
So without further ado, here is a video showcasing the photos I took during the event. Below that is a gallery of the actual photos taken for your enjoyment.
