Most vehicles have at least one oxygen sensor (O2 sensor) on the engine as part of the fuel injection optimization electronics. An O2 sensor performs tests on the exhaust to determine how much oxygen is in it so the vehicle’s computer can optimize the fuel-to-air mixture for best performance.
