Volkswagen has announced that its Chattanooga, Tennessee plant will be the North American base for its upcoming Modular Electric Toolkit (MEB) electric vehicles. The plant will undergo 0 million in upgrades, creating about 1,000 jobs at the plant, and be operational by 2022. The Chattanooga plant joins seven other VW plants globally hosting the MEB platform.
